Wineries of Cafayate

Wineries of Cafayate

Cafayate offers an accessible and welcoming wine tasting experience. Most wineries are located in the town itself or in its surroundings, making it easy to visit them on foot or by bicycle. Between downtown wine bars and tasting rooms at the wineries themselves, there are options for every palate.

Tastings & Wine Bars

Cafayate has wine bars in the center of town and tasting rooms at the wineries themselves. The wine bars are perfect for sampling the region's wines without committing to a full winery visit, while the bodegas offer the complete vineyard experience.

Bad Brothers Wine & Food Experience

Half a block from the main plaza in a beautifully restored old colonial house, Bad Brothers is Cafayate's most complete wine and dining experience. They offer the only dedicated extreme-altitude wine tastings in town, featuring wines from vineyards at 1,700 to 2,680 meters. The internationally-inspired menu ranges from shared plates and picadas to Argentine parrilla. Book a personalized wine blending session with their in-house sommelier for a truly hands-on experience. The garden terrace with live music makes it a great evening destination.

Tasting tips

Most wineries offer tastings with or without prior reservation. Prices are affordable and many also offer pairings with local cheeses and empanadas. We recommend visiting 2 to 3 wineries per day to fully enjoy each experience.
