One of the newer entries on the Cafayate wine scene, Amalaya Wine Bar offers a selection of high-altitude blends crafted from sustainably-farmed grapes in the Cafayate Valley. Visitors can enjoy their vibrant and fresh wines in a welcoming atmosphere overlooking Cafayate.

Bad Brothers: The Wine Lover´s Cafayate Headquarters
Bad Brothers Wine Experience offers wine pairings, tastings and even the opportunity to blend your own wines.

Located in a renovated adobe house half a block from the main plaza, Bad Brothers also offers a relaxing environment with great wines, music and food to pair with your wines.

At the Alforja shop in the entrance of Bad Brothers you’ll find wine for sale at direct from the winery prices, as well as a wide selection of items sourced from artisans working in the high terroirs where winemaker Agustin Lanus makes his wine.

Bodega Domingo Hermanos
The Domingo family is one of the leading families of Cafayate winemaking. The Bodega Domingo Hermanos, located an easy walk from the town´s main plaza, is one of the most popular local wine tasting operations.

The Domingo family also operate Bodega Domingo Molinos, which focuses on smaller production premium wines about a 15 minute drive up the mountainside outside of town.

Bodega El Esteco
Owned by the Pena Flora conglomerate, is one of the largest wineries in Cafayate. They offers some excellent wines, including the Don David Torrontes, one of our favorites in the valley. For reds, try their Ciclos Malbec/Merlot blend.

Local knowledge: Attached to the Esteco Winery is the Patios de Cafayate Hotel, an old converted estancia house with luxurious accommodations and a lovely old world ambiance. Enjoy lunch on the back patio of a nice steak and salad with a glass of the Bodega Esteco Ciclos Blend.

Finca de Las Nubes

A family-run boutique winery set in the hills just outside Cafayate, Finca Las Nubes offers a more intimate and tranquil wine-tasting experience.

The small-scale, organic approach results in high-quality, handcrafted wines, including exquisite Torrontés and Syrah. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed tasting session on the terrace, overlooking vineyards and the Andean foothills, or take a guided tour to learn about the winemaking process.

Bodega Nanni
Another of the valley´s prominent first families of wine, Bodega Nanni offers a variety of wine styles, including Malbec, Bonarda, Tannat, Torrontes and their premium blend, Arcanas, a favorite.

Local knowledge: The Bodega offers a “hidden” restaurant in the courtyard with a variety of regional dishes.

Piattelli Winery
Piattelli is one of the Mendoza wine makers which have expanded their operations into Cafayate in order to take advantage of the unique terroirs offered in the valley. This stunning winery on the hill overlooking Cafayate is the creation of Piattelli´s owners, Jon and Arlene Malinski and a “must-visit” for any wine enthusiast. Go for the wine tour, stay for lunch with the best views of any restaurant in Cafayate.

Local knowledge:  While most visitors gravitate to the restaurant and tasting room at Piattelli, they overlook the excellent restaurant in the newly built hotel on property. Reservations required.

Bodega El Porvenir
Owned by the Romero family (Dr. Juan Carlos Romero is a former governor of Salta province), El Porvenir is known for its premium Laborum line of wines. They have a beautiful tasting room located within the pueblo of Cafayate.

Bodega San Pedro de Yacochuya
The Etchart family is another of the founding families of the Cafayate wine business, and Yacochuya is their crown jewel. Tucked high on the slopes overlooking Cafayate (when you get to the entrance of Piattelli, keep on going up), the small bodega specializes in a rich Malbec created by renowned French winemaker Michel Rolland, a regular visitor to Cafayate.
